This was The Munch’s first week of school! I have to say, all this makes me feel very grown up. Only adults pick up their kids at school right? This doesn’t even feel real to me. It is more like I am playing the part of the cliché mom who drives her hybrid SUV to collect her kid from school wearing yoga pants and a messy ponytail. Oh and I can’t forget the tired eyes. Gotta have those too. Every day I go I feel like I am pretending.
But so far it has been really drama free. The Munch is happy to be dropped off, and she is happy when I pick her up. I ask her if she likes school and her teachers and she always emphatically says yes. But here is the weird part. I can’t figure out what the hell she does there every day. I ask her about her day, but she won’t really give me an answer!?
Toni: Munch how was school today?
Munch: Good.
Toni: What did you do today?
Munch: I don’t know.
Toni: Can you tell me a story about what you did?
Munch: No you tell me a story about the angry monster!
Toni: I will but first tell me a one story about your day.
Munch: I can’t. It’s too long! The story is too long!
Toni: But can you tell me just part of the story?
Munch: No Mamma, it is too long.
Toni: Well I will tell you a story if you tell me a story about your day.
Munch: No Mamma, I just can’t. It is a secret.
Toni: It is a secret?
Munch: Yes.
Toni: Well, can you whisper it to me?
Munch: I can’t Mamma, it is too long. Maybe I will tell my bear later.
I guess school is like Vegas?
