Unleash Your Inner Super Hero!

The idea of the super hero has always enchanted our imaginations.  From the time of the ancient Greeks and their hero-worshipping cults, to now – the archetype of someone who transforms into a facilitator of justice is one that captivates our collective consciousness.  The idol’s personality is often flawed, but their super powers supersede any human shortcomings.  In fact, their imperfections are what make them relatable, only further piercing the undying devotion we feel for them into our hearts.

Am I being dramatic? I don’t thinks so.  Go to any comic book store and say, “I don’t what the big deal about Superman is” and see if you don’t get tarred and feathered.

But what is not to love about these timeless demi-gods?  It is the ultimate fantasy. Kids LOVE seeing themselves as super heroes.  The idea seems totally plausible to them.  Of course I have a magic power inside of me… I just have to unlock it with in my pretend world.

Even though the standard perception is that super powers are supernatural, don’t we all have at least one special talent?  Besides, the main agenda of a super hero is protecting the public, so we all can all at least do that right?

I think we owe it to ourselves, and the world, to unleash our inner super hero!!

Here are a few ways I thought of!

1)   Since we all are on Facebook every day anyway, at least once a day post about an issue you care about to spread awareness on something in the world that needs to be addressed.

2)   At least once a week do something truly altruistic for someone you love.  Do their laundry, cook them something, watch their kid, listen to their bullshit… anything that is thoughtful and will momentarily make their life better.

3)   At least once a month do something for your local community.  Go to a hospital and read to old people or young children… or go to a animal shelter and hug dogs and cats that don’t have homes.

4)   At least once a year get involved in the plight of people suffering throughout the world.  Like girls who are being kidnapped and sold into sex trafficking, or women in Saudi Arabia who are tried as terrorists for driving, or children who are forced into becoming soldiers.

5) At least once every day, week, month, year and decade do something really epic for mother earth!!!!  Plant a tree, farm, don’t littler, and make shit out of trash!

But make sure you do all this stuff wearing a cape… and whiskers!
