One of my hippy healer friends was feeling The Munch’s neck and said that her lymph nodes were swollen because she was fighting an infection. You know, as hippy healer friends tend to do. Feel around on your glands.
Hippy Healer Friend: You might want to give her some Echinacea to help boost her immune system.
Toni: How would I get her to swallow a pill? Of could I just break it up and put it in her drink or something?
Hippy Healer Friend: Sure, you could try that.
So I took the Echinacea capsule and opened it up to dump the powder into a glass of orange juice.
Toni: You see this Munch? It is magic fairy powder. And I am going to put it in your juice to drink it!
Munch: It’s fairy powder?
Toni: Yes, and its magic!
Munch: It looks yucky. It is all green and brown and yucky.
Toni: No sweetie, that is the magic part.
Munch: I don’t want to drink it.
Toni: Just try it Munch.
Munch: Okay.
Toni: Take a bigger sip.
Munch: I don’t like it. It is yucky. I don’t want it.
Toni: But you have to finish it. Just a few more sips.
Munch: Mamma, no, I don’t like it.
Toni: But it’s magic fairy powder.
Munch: It is yucky fairy powder. I want some gummy bears.
Toni: You can’t have gummy bears.
Munch: But I want them.
Toni: Okay, I have an idea. What if I opened a new magic fairy powder, put it on this spoon, and then added a little bit of juice. So you could take a shot…errr I mean spoonful of magic fairy powder. And then you can have some gummy bears.
Munch: Okay.
So I opened up another Echinacea pill, put the powder on a spoon, and added a little bit of juice. In my mind this would work. I thought it would create a sludge that could be easily ingested. But the reality was way different. The juice only covered the top layer of the Echinacea. Underneath the powder was still very much intact, and not penetrated by the juice. I had assumed it would all be moist and go down her throat with the ease, but I was wrong. So very wrong.
The Munch put the spoon in her mouth, but once the juice was gone, all that was left was dirt tasting Echinacea powder. The inside of her mouth was covered in green/brown dust that I am sure tasted like dog farts. She just started screaming in horror – her open mouth looked like a cave full of bat shit.
Toni: Munch I am so sorry!
Munch: WAHHHAAAAHHHHHHH!!
Toni: Dude I am so sorry! Here, have some more juice!
But I had lost her trust. Munch thought there was more crap in the juice and started running away screaming!
Munch: AHHHHHHHHHHH!!
Toni: Munch I swear there is no fairy dust in here. Just drink it. It will make it all go away.
Munch: AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! WAHAHHHAHHAHHHAAA!!
So I chased her around the kitchen and tried to just pour the juice in her mouth to wash away the Echinacea, but I ended up spilling it all over her face and dress by mistake!
Toni: Oh God! That was an accident. I was trying to help! I am so sorry!!
Munch: AHHHHAHAHHHHHHHAAAAHH!! WAAHHHHAHAAAA MY DRESS is WET!!! MY MOUTH IS YUCKY!! AAHHHHHHHHH!!
Finally I got a towel and tried to wipe the remnants out of her mouth.
Toni: Dude, I really didn’t know that was going to happen. It was an accident. Here are your gummy bears okay.
Munch: I really don’t think I like magic fairy powder. Lets not do that ever again.
(Here is the dreaded hippy powder and The Munch who was still mighty displeased with me)
