All You Need is Tools

I think The Munch is having an existential crisis of being.  She has become very intrigued by the origin of her existence and often asks, “who made me?”  Short of explaining penetration to her, I am doing my best to quench her curiosity, but she still has questions.

Toni: “…. And then I made you with my body. Inside my tummy?”

Munch: “But who gave you the tools? Did the man give you the tools?”

This question kind of blew my mind like a dyslexic chick in a 69.  Is the man she is referring to GOD? And why is god a man?  Does The Munch assuming that a man gave me tools to make her mean there is a god?  She came up with that on her own, so maybe she knows the something I don’t? And what kind of tools does one receive to create another human?  I mean, I guess the simple answer is eggs and sperm, but that sounds more like breakfast.  I felt like the “tools” Munch was referring to are more complex than biology.  Like she wants to know what is it that breathes life into cells?

Perhaps I am projecting, but I don’t think so.  I believe that we all have a profound desire to contemplate our presence on the planet, and ultimately we can’t truly explain the mystery of it.  Of course science provides a perspective, but it doesn’t answer all the inquiries.  And the more I talk to a 3-year old trying to rationalize it all, the more questions I end up having myself.
